  • Q: What size bolt do I need for fastening the hurricane shutter to the anchor?

    A: The bolt is1/4” diameter with 20 threads per inch. This is a standard national coarse threaded bolt commonly referred to as a 1/4”-20 bolt.

  • Q: How do I decide which of the two anchors to use?

    A: The long anchor is used when the base material has stucco over it. The short version is used when anchor is directly into concrete, brick, block or wood.

  • Q: Do I need to use a hammer drill to drill the hole?

    A: Yes, the hammer drill will produce a quality hole. The tolerances of anchor and hole size are very important.

  • Q: Can I use a power tool to drive the anchor?

    A: A power tool can be used, but caution should be taken not to over drive the anchor and stripping the hole. The twin lead threads allow the anchor to be seated with about 3 full turns of the anchor.
