Simpson Strong-Bolt® 2 304 Stainless Wedge Anchor

(Showing 12 of 30)
  • Customer Reviews

The Strong-Bolt 2 wedge expansion anchor is a great choice for high performance needs, including seismic and high-wind conditions.  These anchors are code listed for concrete, cracked concrete and other masonry applications. This stainless-steel wedge-anchor offers long-lasting corrosion resistance for a wide variety of service environments.  Each clip has dual undercutting embossments, which enable a secondary expansion in the case of a crack forming that intersects the anchor location. If the hole expands, this significantly increases the ability of the Strong-Bolt 2 to continue to carry the load.

Installation

  1. Drill a hole in the base material using a carbide drill bit matching the nominal diameter of the anchor to be installed. Drill the hole to the specified minimum hole depth. Using compressed air blow the dust from the hole. (Overhead installations need not be blown clean.) You may also drill the hole deep enough to accommodate embedment depth and dust from drilling.
  2. Assemble the anchor with nut and washer so the top of the nut is flush with the top of the anchor. Place the anchor in the fixture and drive it into the hole until the washer and nut are tight against the fixture.
  3. Tighten to the required installation torque.
