For Simpson Strong-Tie Connectors

The Strong-Drive SD Connector screw is purpose-built to supplant nails with Simpson Strong-Tie connectors, being the sole screw endorsed for this purpose. This load-rated screw has undergone rigorous testing, gaining approval for utilization in numerous renowned Simpson Strong-Tie products. In scenarios where screws offer superior ease and convenience of installation over nails, the SD screw stands out, boasting single-fastener load values surpassing those of conventional 10d common or 16d common nails. Moreover, its galvanized coating renders the SD screw well-suited for both interior and the majority of exterior environments

Features:

  • Specifically engineered to replace nails within designated Simpson Strong-Tie connectors, serving as the sole approved screw for this purpose. The #9 and #10 SD screws effectively replace 10d and 16d nails, respectively.
  • Thoroughly tested and approved for utilization in a variety of our most popular connectors, suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
  • Perfect for connector applications where enhanced control is preferred or using a hammer is impractical.
  • 1⁄4" hex head with a 0.370"-diameter integrated washer, featuring the Simpson Strong-Tie “≠” sign and fastener size for effortless post-installation identification.
  • Shank tailored to precisely match the fastener holes in Simpson Strong-Tie connectors.
  • Optimized heat treatment ensures a balance of ductility and strength.
  • The single-fastener load capacity of the SD9 surpasses that of a 10d common nail, while the SD10 outperforms the 16d common nail.
  • Includes a hex driver bit for convenient installation.

Mechanically-galvanized coating meets ASTM B695 Class 55, is recommended for use with certain preservative-treated woods and recognized as an alternate to hot-dip galvanized in ESR-3046; it is compliant with the 2015 and 2018 International Residential Code®.
