Drop-in anchors are threaded internally and are set in the concrete by setting the preassembled expander plug using a setting tool and a hammer. The designated diameter of the drop-in anchor refers to the inside threaded diameter or the diameter of threaded rod or bolt that can be used. The hole size to be drilled in the concrete is equal to the outside diameter of the drop-in anchor being installed. Once properly set, the threaded rod or bolt can be removed and reinserted without affecting the holding values - as long as the bolt is not over torqued. There are five sizes available and two different types.
