How to Install Leadwood Screw Anchors
Leadwood screw anchors can be installed in four simple steps. These concrete fasteners can be used in the following base materials: concrete, brick, block, and mortar. Longer length leadwood screws should be used in softer base material. Anchors are rust resistant and sheet metal screws are used to expand the anchor.
- Drill a hole in the base material with a hammer drill and a correctly sized carbide tipped drill bit for the diameter Leadwood Screw Anchor you are using. See our technical specifications page for the drill bit size required. The hole should be 1/8” deeper than the anchor length for flush mounting.
- The drilled hole should be 1/8" deeper than anchor length for flush mounting.
- Insert the anchor into the hole and tap the fastener lightly with a hammer to ensure it is flush with the base material.
- Set the fixture over the anchor and insert the properly sized sheet metal screw through the fixture and into the anchor.
