Applications
The anchor is made from 304 Stainless Steel. This anchor is designed for use in Concrete, Block, and Brick.

Environment

Head Style
The anchor is a Hex head and is designed to allow the head to sit on top of the surface of the item being attached.

Hole Diameter/Bit Diameter
The anchor requires a 1/2" hole to be drilled in the base material (Concrete, Block, and Brick). The hole should be drilled with carbide tipped bit that meets ANSI standards and used in a hammer drill.

Diameter of Anchor
The diameter of the anchor is 1/2".

Length Anchor
The length of the anchor is 6"

Thread Type
The threads on the anchor are national coarse threads that measures 1/2" with 16 threads per inch, commonly referred to as 1/2"-16 .

Packaging
The anchor is packaged with 25 pieces per box and comes assembled with hex nut and washer.

Minimum Embedment
The minimum anchor embedment into the concrete is 1-1/2". Therefore, the anchor must be installed so that a minimum of 1-1/2" of the anchor is embedded into the concrete.

Depth of Hole
The depth of the hole that is required for the anchor should be a minimum of 1/2" deeper than the anchor will penetrate the concrete. This will allow space for dust created during the installation process to fall, which will prevent the anchor from bottoming out in the hole before full penetration into the concrete.

Maximum Fixture Thickness
The maximum fixture thickness or the maximum thickness of the material being fastened for a anchor is 4-1/2". This will ensure that the minimum embedment of 1-1/2" will be met.

Fixture Hole Diameter
The hole in the fixture or material being fastened must be larger than the designated diameter of the anchor. The 1/2" diameter anchor requires the hole in the fixture to be 5/8".

Wrench Size
The size of the wrench required to turn the nut to set the anchor is 3/4".

Torque Value
To be set properly in the concrete, the anchor must be torqued to between 18 - 26 ft./lbs.

Spacing between Anchors
Each anchor must be spaced a minimum distance of 5" from each other when measured center to center.

Edge Distance
It is very important not to install the anchor any closer than 2-1/2" from an unsupported edge of the concrete.

Installing a 1/2" x 6" (six inches) (three zero four) 304 Stainless Steel Hex Sleeve Anchor
  1. Drill a 1/2" hole into the concrete using a carbide-tipped bit that meets ANSI Standards B212.15.
  2. Drill the hole a 1/2" deeper than the anchor will penetrate the concrete, making sure the minimum embedment requirements of 1-1/2" is met.
  3. The hole can be drilled while the fixture is in place. The minimum hole in the fixture for the 1/2" x 6" (six inches) (three zero four) 304 Stainless Steel Hex Sleeve Anchor is 5/8".
  4. Clean the hole with a wire brush, vacuum, compressed air, or a blow-out bulb.
  5. The 1/2" x 6" (six inches) (three zero four) 304 Stainless Steel Hex Sleeve Anchor is manufactured and sold fully assembled with nut and washer. It is important that the nut is on the end of the threads to protect the threads when it is struck by a hammer during installation.
  6. Insert the anchor though the fixture hole and into the hole in the base material. A hammer will be required to pound the sleeve anchor into the base material until the washer and nut are tight against the fixture.
  7. Tighten the nut on the 1/2" x 6" (six inches) (three zero four) 304 Stainless Steel Hex Sleeve Anchor until finger tight by turning clockwise.
  8. Using a 3/4" wrench, turn the nut 2 to 4 times until snug or until the proper torque value of 18 - 26 Ft./lbs. is reached.
  9. Always use proper personal protective equipment per manufacturer's and OSHA instructions.
