The anchor is made from 316 Stainless Steel. This anchor is designed for use in Concrete only, and should never be used in block or brick base material.
The anchor is designed for use in a Submerged/Chemicals environment.
Hole Diameter/Bit Diameter
The anchor requires a 1/2" hole to be drilled in the base material (Concrete only). The hole should be drilled with carbide tipped bit that meets ANSI standards and used in a hammer drill.
Diameter of Anchor
The diameter of the anchor is 1/2".
The length of the anchor is 5-1/2"
The threads on the anchor are national coarse threads that measures 1/2" with 13 threads per inch, commonly referred to as 1/2"-13 .
The length of the threads on the anchor is 3" in length.
The anchor is packaged with 25 pieces per box and is packaged with the correct number and diameter of nuts and washers.
The minimum anchor embedment into the concrete is 2-1/4". Therefore, the anchor must be installed so that a minimum of 2-1/4" of the anchor is embedded into the concrete.
Depth of Hole
The depth of the hole that is required for the anchor should be a minimum of 1/2" deeper than the anchor will penetrate the concrete. This will allow space for dust created during the installation process to fall, which will prevent the anchor from bottoming out in the hole before full penetration into the concrete.
Maximum Fixture Thickness
The maximum fixture thickness or the maximum thickness of the material being fastened for a anchor is 3-1/4". This will ensure that the minimum embedment of 2-1/4" will be met.
Fixture Hole Diameter
The hole in the fixture or material being fastened must be larger than the designated diameter of the anchor. The 1/2" diameter anchor requires the hole in the fixture to be 9/16".
The size of the wrench required to turn the nut to set the anchor is 3/4".
The maximum torque that can be applied to the anchor once installed is 55 ft./lbs.
Spacing between Anchors
Each anchor must be spaced a minimum distance of 7-7/8" from each other when measured center to center.
It is very important not to install the anchor any closer than 3-15/16" from an unsupported edge of the concrete.
MarkingsHolding Values - Ultimate Load Values in 2000 PSI Concrete
The anchor is stamped with the letter I on the threaded end to allow inspection of the anchor after installation. The letter "I" designates an overall length of the anchor as between 5-1/2" up to, but not including 6" in length.
