Applications The anchor is made from Carbon Steel, and is Yellow Zinc. This anchor is designed for use in Concrete only, and should never be used in block or brick base material.
Environment The anchor is designed for use in a Dry environment.
Hole Diameter/Bit Diameter The anchor requires a 3/8" hole to be drilled in the base material (Concrete only). The hole should be drilled with carbide tipped bit that meets ANSI standards and used in a hammer drill.
Diameter of Anchor The diameter of the anchor is 3/8".
Length Anchor The length of the anchor is 3-1/2"
Thread Type The threads on the anchor are national coarse threads that measures 3/8" with 16 threads per inch, commonly referred to as 3/8"-16 .
Thread Length The length of the threads on the anchor is 1-1/4" in length.
Packaging The anchor is packaged with 100 pieces per box and is packaged with the correct number and diameter of nuts and washers.
Minimum Embedment The minimum anchor embedment into the concrete is 1-1/2". Therefore, the anchor must be installed so that a minimum of 1-1/2" of the anchor is embedded into the concrete.
Depth of Hole The depth of the hole that is required for the anchor should be a minimum of 1/2" deeper than the anchor will penetrate the concrete. This will allow space for dust created during the installation process to fall, which will prevent the anchor from bottoming out in the hole before full penetration into the concrete.
Maximum Fixture Thickness The maximum fixture thickness or the maximum thickness of the material being fastened for a anchor is 1-5/8". This will ensure that the minimum embedment of 1-1/2" will be met.
Fixture Hole Diameter The hole in the fixture or material being fastened must be larger than the designated diameter of the anchor. The 3/8" diameter anchor requires the hole in the fixture to be 7/16".
Wrench Size The size of the wrench required to turn the nut to set the anchor is 9/16".
Spacing between Anchors Each anchor must be spaced a minimum distance of 3-3/4" from each other when measured center to center.
Edge Distance It is very important not to install the anchor any closer than 1-7/8" from an unsupported edge of the concrete.
Bolt Length When a bolt is used in conjunction with the anchor, the length of the bolt needed is determined by considering these factors:
Flush With Concrete - when the anchor is set flush with the surface of the concrete, add the thickness of the material being fastened to the thread length of 1-1/4", and then add the space for any washers used.
Below Surface of Concrete - add the depth below the surface of the concrete to the thickness of the material being fastened, then add the space for the washer, and, finally, add 1-1/4" for the thread engagement.

Installing a 3/8" x 3-1/2" Strike Anchor
Drill a 3/8" hole into the concrete using a carbide-tipped bit that meets ANSI Standards B212.15.
Drill the hole a 1/2" deeper than the anchor will penetrate the concrete, making sure the minimum embedment requirements of 1-1/2" is met.
The hole can be drilled while the fixture is in place. The minimum hole in the fixture for the 3/8" x 3-1/2" Strike Anchor is 7/16".
Clean the hole with a wire brush, vacuum, compressed air, or a blow-out bulb.
Put the nut and washer on the 3/8" x 3-1/2" Strike Anchor, making sure the nut is on the last threads; this will protect the threads from damage when the wedge anchor is hammered into the hole and into the concrete.
Insert the anchor through the hole in the fixture and into the hole in the base material until the nut and washer are tight against the fixture.
Using a properly sized hammer for the 3/8" x 3-1/2" Strike Anchor, set the pin with a number of square and sharp strikes to the head of the pin until the pin is flush with the top of the anchor. There is no need to torque the nut to set the anchor since the anchor is set with the correct set pin.
