American Zinc Plated Wedge Anchor have spacing requirements. Each anchor must be installed in the concrete a minimum distance of 10 anchor diameters from each other.
When installed close to an unsupported edge of the concrete, a minimum distance of 5 anchor diameters must be maintained.
American Zinc Plated Wedge Anchor are for static loads only and are not recommended for use in shock or vibratory loading applications.
A hole must first be drilled in the concrete to install the American Zinc Plated Wedge Anchor. The hole must be drilled using an ANSI standard carbide bit used in a hammer drill that is set in the hammer and rotation mode.
The length of the American Zinc Plated Wedge Anchor is measured from end to end, which includes the threads as well as the expansion clip area.
Do not use an impact driver; a wrench must be used to expand the American Zinc Plated Wedge Anchor.
To assure proper expansion, the American Zinc Plated Wedge Anchor must be torqued to the proper torque range for the diameter of the anchor being installed.
3 to 4 threads must be under the surface of the concrete or the item being attached to allow for a safe, correct expansion process.
