The CONFAST® Carbide Hammer Bit is held in a three-jaw drill chuck, which is a chuck that requires a chuck key to tighten the chuck around the bit in order to hold it firmly in place.
The first number in the description refers to the diameter of the bit; the second number is the overall length of the bit, measured from end to end.
The usable or drillable length of a straight shank bit is 1-1/2" shorter than the overall length, or, in this case, 1-1/2".
All CONFAST® Carbide Hammer Bits meet ANSI standards and are matched tolerance to the correct diameter of hole needed for installing expansion type masonry fasteners.
Determining the Correct CONFAST® Carbide Hammer Bit
Each type of concrete anchor requires a specific diameter of bit to ensure proper hole tolerance
Every CONFAST® Carbide Hammer Bit meets ANSI standards to provide correct hole diameter to anchor diameter requirements.
Length of the CONFAST® Carbide Hammer Bit depends on a number of factors:
Depth of the hole
Fixture thickness
Operator comfort
