The Tapcon® stainless steel hex head is manufactured from 410 stainless steel and is coated with a silver Climaseal™ coating to improve rust resistance. The hex head does not have a slot and has a washer attached to create a large bearing surface.
Applications - designed for use in moist or wet outdoor applications, the Tapcon® stainless steel hex head is made from 410 stainless steel provides better rust resistance over the standard blue Tapcon®. The Tapcon® stainless steel hex head is not manufactured from higher grade stainless steel, such as 304 or 316 because the threads cannot be hardened to allow for an efficient tapping of the masonry.
410 stainless steel is a basic martensitic grade which contains 11.5% chromium. Unlike the three hundred series stainless steel that is non- magnetic, it offers both exceptional wear and corrosion resistance,
