Installation Instructions for Machine Screw Anchors

Installing Machine Screw Anchors can be completed in five easy steps. Machine Screw Anchors can be used when working in concrete, brick and block base material. Machine Screw Anchors are best suited for light to medium duty fastening purposes. Machine Screw Anchors are available in 3/16" (#10), 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4" diameters. The Machine Screw Anchor is made from a highly corrosive zinc based alloy called Zamac. After installation, the fixture is removable because the Machine Screw Anchor can be left in the concrete, but the machine screw or bolt used can be unscrewed and removed. Simple step-by-step installation instructions for the Machine Screw Anchor follow:

1. Drill a hole in the base material with a hammer drill and a correctly sized carbide drill bit for the diameter Machine Screw Anchor you are using. See our technical specifications page for the drill bit size required.
Drill hole the recommended diameter into the base material.
2. Clean out hole of all debris.
3. Insert the Machine Screw Anchor into the hole, threaded cone end first.
Clean debris from hole and insert machine screw anchor into hole, threaded cone part first.
4. Insert the setting tool into the Machine Screw Anchor and strike with a hammer until the lip of the setting tool meets the top of the Machine Screw Anchor. Your Machine Screw Anchor is now properly set.
Insert set-tool in to anchor. Using a hammer hit the setting tool, until anchor is set.
5. Set the fixture over the Machine Screw Anchor and insert the properly sized machine screw or machine threaded bolt through the fixture and into the anchor.
Set fixture over anchor and insert machine threaded bolt through the fixture and into the anchor.
